2026 Fall Symposium
Think and Do: The Future of Climate Solutions
October 7-8, 2026
Join the KIETS Climate Leaders Program on October 7-8, 2026 for our 5th Annual Fall Symposium Think and Do: The Future of Climate Solutions
This two-day symposium is open to everyone interested in addressing climate challenges and seeking viable solutions. The annual fall symposium brings together students, faculty, industry partners, leading experts and community members to highlight interdisciplinary collaboration and transform research into real-world impact. The 2026 Fall Symposium will feature the work of the Climate Leaders Program Scholars and Faculty Mentors. Together, we’ll explore the future of climate solutions across four core themes:
- Textiles: Reimagining circular fashion, bio-based materials, and sustainable manufacturing processes.
- Climate Science: Translating research, data and modeling into actionable strategies for resilience.
- Climate Innovation & Entrepreneurship: Launching climate-tech ventures, piloting market-driven ideas, and exploring opportunities
- Buildings: Transforming green infrastructure, resilient design, and energy efficiency in the built environment.
The Climate Leaders Program Fall Symposium is sponsored by the Climate and Sustainability Academy, and there is no cost to attend the symposium thanks to funding by the Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology & Science, NC State University’s Sustainability Fund, and the R.L. Rabb Science and Society Symposia Endowment.
To ensure responsible use of funds, notify Amanda Mueller ([email protected]) or Catherine Cole ([email protected]) of any cancellations as soon as possible.
